The Equity Diversity Committee

The EDC is a committee of Equity members who run campaigns to make the performing arts industry more inclusive, accessible and diverse. It is the peak performer body in the industry making positive change for performers with diverse experiences. The committee is made up of diverse performers including performers with disability, First Nations, CALD, LGBTQIA+ and women performers but allies are welcome to stay in the loop as supporters. The EDC has played a pivotal role in industry wins such as The 2020 Rob Guest Endowment competition, DTC's A Chorus Line casting and creating a Diversity Showcase to support performers.  The committee is working on a range of campaigns from experiences of discrimination in training institutions to unpaid cultural consulting. The EDC's ability to make change relies solely on membership. It is a committee by members for members. If you're keen to get involved or support the EDC's work in any way please email jenna.schroder@meaa.org
